Last night I went to see the Ed Banger crew at Cinespace. It was Busy P’s berfday so it was almost guaranteed to be a great show. I was excited because my source told me that Atrak & Gaspard Augé of Justice was going to do a set and Thomas Bangalter was going to be there but not DJ. I know Ed Banger know how to throw a party and I was really excited to see Kavinsky (who I love) and Medhi who really knows how to get the club going. The first thing I saw when I came into the main room was Dita Von Teese in all her pale glory.

The amazing thing that happened was Bangalter actually DJ’d. Seeing one of the member of Daft Punk live without the mask was AMAZING. Sure he wasn’t the best DJ but he’s the god of electronic music so seeing him live unmasked was a once in a life time thing. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, the other half of Daft Punk was also there, but he didn’t DJ.

While I was watching Bangalter the troublemaker himself Kavinsky walked by me. He stopped, reached out and started rubbing my ear lobe. He then put his arm around me and smiled. I then reached out and shook his hand. Normally this would weird me out but I love him so it was great. The girl I was with then reached out to shake his hand, when she did this he kissed her hand and then sort of bowed to her, smirked and walked off.

It was really a whose who of the DJ world, Sebastian, MSTRKRFT, SO ME, and good live performance from The Whip.

Overall it was an amazing night and worth all the pain and agony of waking up early a few hours later.
